WEB LAB - THE SOCIAL RESEARCH LABORATORY
EKKE, constantly monitoring social developments, in order to strengthen the documented public policy undertakes the research in its specially designed
laboratory (WebLab) which is designed on the basis of advanced web
applications, encouraging innovation and experimentation.
The Laboratory was founded in 2015 and meets the objectives of the National
Strategy for Research and Innovation for Smart Specialization (RIS3)
2014-2020 (http://www.gsrt.gr/News/Files/New1034/RIS3V.5_21.7.2015.pdf), as
it utilizes innovative online applications and through the EKKE repository
provides access to high-level data in both the research community and the
public sector, as well as businesses and industry.
So far, two surveys have been conducted on behalf of the private sector,
three surveys in the context of Greece's participation in the World Internet
Project (WIP) on the dissemination and internet uses, and a public survey of
Marine Protected Areas. The infrastructure of the laboratory has hosted
seminars for the training of research staff in quantitative and qualitative
speech analysis and the methodology of sampling social research using a
computer (CATI), as well as the self-funded seminar "Do your
survey".
