Values and emotionality in the Greek political culture
Within the emerging field of the political sociology of emotions, we discuss, first, the complex emotion of ressentiment regarded as a driver for populist, anti-immigrant and far right parties support, and as a leverage of major socio-political upheavals. Then, using the World Values Survey 7th wave data-set for Greece we set and analyze certain ressentiment parameters controlling for ten research hypotheses designed to tap its political cultural function among the Greek public. The analysis is conveyed through a ressentiment-scale and a constructed index.
