Public administration and immigrant integration in Greece

This article attempts to briefly outline the institutional structure of the Greek government as the main body shaping and implementing immigration and immigrant integration policy and to examine the parameters of the organization and operation of those agencies involved in the formulation and implementation of policies on migration issues. At the same time, through the summary of findings from National Centre for Social Research surveys on migration and social integration of immigrants, the article aims to contribute to the debate on the need for organizational and operational restructuring of public administration in order to improve its efficiency and administrative capacity to manage migration and social integration of migrants in Greece.
