The importance of ‘mapping’ policy making organizations on the local authority level

In this paper we will focus on the importance of “mapping” policy related organizations and the possibilities offered by such a “mapping” to local authorities. “Mapping” is a kind of research conducted the last decades in EKKE, and aims at a full registration of services, organizations and structures, as well as their presentation upon a geographic background. Combining qualitative and quantitative methods, “mapping” offers a fresh approach to public administration, and opens new possibilities for the organization of local authorities’ services in order to better answer the citizens’ needs.
