Social integration of immigrant women: public sector officials’ perceptions

In this paper we present the problems related to the social integration of migrant women, as recognized by the representatives of public authorities involved. We focus on exploring their perceptions about the circumstances and pre-conditions of integration in the key areas of legal integration, labor market integration, access to education, health and welfare services, and political and social participation. We also look at the steps needed to combat discrimination against migrants, especially immigrant women. The final part of the paper is dedicated to proposals to improve their social inclusion.
