The Social Portrait of Greece - 2012, Aspects of the crisis

In the "Social Portrait 2012," which covers the period from Greece's entry into the bailout mechanism in the spring of 2010 up to the recent elections, the content is divided into two parts. The first part presents the perspectives on the crisis of five distinguished academics with extensive expertise in their respective fields, who were asked for their opinions on various aspects of the crisis in Greece. In the second part, the authors, researchers from the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE) with long-standing engagement in issues of social policy and employment, aim through their articles to capture, with new analyses and data, the developments of the past two years in the labor market, unemployment, migration, poverty, and social inequalities. They also seek to explore the broader social impacts of the transformations triggered by the crisis.
