Family and contemporary Greek society

This volume concerns the empirical investigation of the “present and the  future” of marriage and family in Greece in the current context of generalized fluidity, uncertainties, potential "risks,  risks that signal changes not only in people's daily lives but in the social structure itself, the social institutions and the social relations.

In this context, remains an issue whether the family, which for many decades – centuries in fact – has been the "cell" of Greek society, performs its socializing role in the modern conjuncture, in what forms, ways and means it performs it and how it contributes to modern social life and social progress. On the basis of the acquired knowledge and the increased credibility of the relevant research tradition of EKKE, due to the strict application of quality criteria of the research product, quantitative and qualitative research was conducted (March – May 2023), an initial  reading of  its results is included in this report.
