The proposed study will investigate whether and to what extent or in what way human values are related to the measures of both political trust in institutions and social trust and whether individuals who have higher (or lower) levels of trust are aligned with the dominant values prevailing in their country. The analysis will be mainly based on the European Social Survey (ESS) data also using accompanying data from the European Values Study (EVS) and World Values Survey (WVS) for Greece 2002-2017 and the related data for Southern Europe (Italy, Spain and Portugal).
