Recording and investigating housing applications by asylum seekers.

The objective of the project was to construct a data base containing the National Centre for Social Solidarity data on applications for housing assistance by asylum seekers in Greece.Housing needs, demographic characteristics of the asylum-seekers and the capacity of the housing provision system were assesed. Innovation: The project had the opportunity to focus on conditions of homelessness and housing exclusion of asylum seekers and unnacompanied minors in Greece, using the housing exclusion typology developed by FEANTSA (European Federation of National Organisations Working with the Homeless).Impact to the society and economy: the project was the first to produce a combination of quantitative and qualitative data on sylum seekers’ housing exclusion in 2012, showing the housing conditions prior to the massive increase in arrivals in 2015.
