The Social Economy Observatory will serve as a hub for research, documentation, and support of social economy activities in Greece. Its main goal is to highlight the potential and comparative advantages of the social economy sector in addressing modern forms of inequality and social exclusion, particularly in the current context of economic—and broader—crises.
The Observatory’s activities will initially focus on four key areas:
- Strengthening the operation of the Hub for Documentation, Support, and Information in the field of Social Economy.
- Promoting social dialogue, networking, and raising awareness among organizations, individuals, and local communities regarding the activities and opportunities of the social economy.
- Recording and studying initiatives aimed at the social and employment integration of vulnerable population groups, particularly those with mental health challenges.
- Establishing a laboratory for the study of the social economy as a distinct scientific field of knowledge.
