Aim of this project is to construct a database of all MPs elected between 1990 and 2012 in the national Parliament in Greece. The material will allow for the systematic study of parliamentary elites and will detect changes in party competition. The period under investigation is characterized by the emergence and dominance of media use in the electoral campaign, while the socio-economic environment shows signs of modernization and "professionalization". Using data from the database, we will examine issues related to parliamentary turnover together with any changes in the socio-economic, professional, educational, age and gender characteristics of Greek MPs.
