Social entrepreneurship in Greece: institutional framework, trends and perspectives

The aim of the article is to explain the peculiarities of the social economy and social enterprise, such as participatory decision-making, focusing on community development, reinvesting profits and especially the social impact that is the primary objective of social enterprises. Moreover, the article presents the institutional framework for the operation of social entrepreneurship in Greece as reflected in Law 4019/2011 and highlights the positive elements and weaknesses in the operation of the Social Cooperative Enterprises.
