The objective of the project was to perform case studies in selected areas of the Greek countryside in order to investigate: a. The sociopolitical and economic factors in the local social composition and the local political tradition that are connected with the establishment of networks of fascist extreme-right supporters. b. The practices that acquaint social subjects with authoritarian and violent behaviors, which may appear as necessary and legitimate in receptive local environments. Fascist and extreme-right support was studied through the lens of violence and violent narratives that while alienating some, may attract other supporters and enrich the organizational resources of fascist and extreme-right groups. Impact to the society and economy: Improvements in the understanding of the rise of neo-fascism in the Greek political system.
